yeah and AHA makes your skin more sensitive to the sun, which irritates the skin and creates more acne

nah, I just use water now instead of shaving foam.

i don’t recommend electric shavers.
use a shaving cream for sensitive skin with a disposable razor which has an aloe vera/vitamin c strip.

Proactive is based on two components in three products: Alpha Hydroxy Acid and Benzoyl Peroxide. AHA is in the Toner. BP is in Cleanser and Lotion. The theory is that the AHA is supposed to exfoliate to allow BP to penetrates to kill the bacteria. The reality is, many people have reactions to AHA (rashes, redness and sometimes scarring). The BP only makes the rashing worse and it can be hard on the skin. The lotion is comedogenic (clogs pores). The theory is sound, the products aren’t.

Oh I just gotta share:
I had acne scars from my first year of high school and beyond, not severe but noticeable.
And I have dark skin so wasn’t any better.
By chance I rummaged through some old papers and found a sample I had gotten at Sephora months before. It said it faded acne scars so I gave it a try and it did! I really liked it. I hope to buy the actual product one day. It was by Caudalie. CAUDALIE VINOPERFECT Radiance Serum.

i have tons of acne scars..i dnt knw if its really an acne scar though..coz i shaved my cheeks and then facial hair keep growing but then my pores gone bigger aswell..is it a scar or will it fade in time??need help people..im teenager 16 to be exact..do you recommend having laser treatments and stuffs like that??need helppppp!!i used to have a nice fine skin..after trying to be cool shaving my cheeks..its horrible nw!help!

ic300x i have the same problem as u, black heads and white heads suck, they leave tons of scars and ingrown hair is even worse..they cause pimples too..ive tried almost everything.. and still the same

Oh and if anyone is getting laser treatment and is worried about it, don’t be!! Im 12 and half the pain threshold of about a 5 year old, and I got laser treatment for a birthmark I have (I’m in the middle of getting it removed) and its not sore, and the laser they use on my birthmark goes a lot deeper than it does for acne laser treatments!

benzoyl peroxide doesnt leave scars, but its not really good for skin, its best to use aloe vera and tea tree oil based products to get rid of spots.

I used to have really bad acne, I started using cetaphil and drinking a lot more water. It helped a lot!! I hardly ever get pimples now, but the only problem is that when I do get a pimple it leaves a mark. I have a product with 10% benzoly peroxide that I put on my pimple 3 times a day. I’ve been reading these comments and ppl are saying that benzoyl peroxide leaves scars so maybe that’s why my pimples leave scars. but if anyone has any advice please tell me!! thank you so much!
