Looking At Around-the-house Jobs As Being Zen-like Fitness Exercises

There is a way to increase muscle size — known as ‘bodybuilding’ to the uninitiated — by carrying out normal activities around the house, though many people might not believe it possible. That’s because they lack focus, which is why the Zen of bodybuilding through simple house jobs is so underappreciated. Thinking about making bigger muscles while sweeping, for instance, could actually work.

Even though we might think that it is highly unlikely to gain fitness from doing housework, think back to that old movie ‘The Karate Kid.’ Remember that Mr. Miyagi put young Daniel through his paces by making him paint fences and wax cars, for one. And though this sort of activity isn’t really needed, maybe grabbing a 10 gallon wet dry vacuum and focusing on pushing it around can be Zen and fitness at the same time.

It might sound a little quirky but it is a fact that what the mind can conceive the body can achieve in many cases. This is just as true in the gym and weightlifting environment as it is in the home environment, where the opportunity to meditate and bend like a reed in the wind — as the Zen masters might say — can present itself at the most opportune times.

For example, maybe one has cleaned out the garage and pulled out one or two of the garden blowers that had been gathering dust over on some shelf. Taking one in each hand and then extending the arms outward or all the way forward and holding the blowers out there while walking slowly through the garden and meditating on all the natural beauty around can be an excellent fitness activity.

What the point of all this mainly revolves around is showing one that there are a myriad of ways in which fitness can be cultivated without actually trying to be fit. Look at it metaphysically as a mind/body journey where meditating on everything but bodybuilding can be extremely Zen-like. Truly, there are more than enough activities around the house that can accomplish fitness growth.

This is so even for the 80-year-old great-grandmother sitting on the porch doing needlepoint or sewing a quilt together. Practicing and focusing completely on the needlework but appreciating how simple and beautiful it is to do can keep the mind sharp, clear and also can call on the body to bring forth energies that it probably didn’t even know it had. Great Grandma is sure to appreciate it, for sure.

So, the next time somebody mentions Zen it’s now possible to understand how it can be applied in many different ways to get through the day doing housework or odd jobs around the house while also asking the body to pitch in and help out, sometimes to the point where actual and definable fitness can result. In the end, what’s not to like about such an activity?

When creating a home gym, you need to use a variety of sport fitness equipment. You also need to design your gym to meet every need that may arise. This could mean remodeling the construction of the room. Your gym may need special flooring to withstand the pressure from heavy equipment.

When you have the right equipment organized in the right order for your gym, you will find your workouts to be more fluid in nature. When you add to the ease of switching from exercise to exercise, you add to the ease of achieving your ultimate fitness goals. After you have aligned your gym to achieve maximum efficiency and functionality, you’ll want to choose the perfect location for your gym.

You have many different options when it comes to the complexities of your gym. When designing the layout and choosing the equipment, you will want to take into consideration the amount of space you have for your use. The more space your gym has, the more equipment you can have sitting out on a permanent basis. If you’re working with a smaller space for your gym, you will want to invest into equipment that can easily fold up for additional space. The best gyms have areas where standard aerobic exercises can also be performed. This allows users to maximize the benefits from their workout regime by taking advantage of multiple movements during their physical activity.

You may find that the layout of your workout area is more important than the location of your gym, but you will still want to put a good amount of thought into choosing your location. The location you choose should be easy to access, in a location that commonly reminds you to exercise, and in a place that is pleasing to your senses. A good location for a gym generally, is by a garden. If you are unable to place your gym by an outdoor garden, you might want to consider creating an indoor garden. A garden inside will add to the oxygen levels of your gym. The plants will also add color to the overall design scheme. A garden can be a great addition to any gym.

When you go to purchase the equipment for your gym, you will want to choose machines that maximize the results you are looking for. If 6 pack abs are your goal, you will want to buy equipment that targets this area of your body. The more pieces of equipment and exercises you get to target this area of your body, the sooner you will see results from your exercise efforts.

If you want to target a different part of your body, like your upper body, then you’ll want to get equipment that is specifically designed for that area of the body.

When you build a gym with a fluid layout, a creative design, and equipment that targets specific areas of the body, you’ll have a gym that can fit any of your fitness demands that may arise.

Chances are, once you get a fitter body, you’ll be able to sustain this for the rest of your life. So how do you expend calories at home without doing boring work out routines? By cleaning the house!

The stairs provide your lower body with a great work out. Instead of cleaning one level of the house at a time, do small tasks on each level. This way, you’ll be forced to use the stairs as you move on to the next cleaning job on another floor. To complete the routine, vacuum the stairs for weight lifting effect.

Pick up a broom and a mop for cleaning the floor, instead of using the dyson vacuum dc17. Using them will give your entire body some workout, especially your back, shoulders and arms. Get on your knees and manually pick up visible dirt and hairs on the carpet. If it’s small enough for you to take it outside to shake off all the dust, do so.

Place a rag on each hand and start wiping off dirt on surfaces. This will give your arms exercise, and firm them up. When cleaning what’s under furnishings, move them out of the way, instead of reaching under them with a broom. For very large ones, you can slide them across the floor, or ask for assistance. But carry smaller ones to provide you with exercises involving resistance or weights.

Once you’re done with inside the house and you feel like you can do some more working out, it’s time to move to the garden. Begin by pruning the bushes or shrubs. Then get on all fours and do some weeding, either by hand or using a weeding tool. Then grab a garden broom or rake to clean out leaves, branches and everything else. Mow the grass then water the plants.

An effective workout is best paired with healthy eating. Take out fat- and calorie-packed items in the ref and replace them with healthy options. Prepare your own meals, so you know nothing in there will wreck your waistline. You can purchase recipe books for weight-watchers in bookstores, or simply find some on the net. You can also add stuff like mirin seasoning, garlic salt, spices and others to make your dishes tastier.
