There are many benefits to owning a true treadmill in your own home. Having your own gym at home is a good idea, since paying for gym memberships can get expensive month after month. It should be your first purchase because it gives you cardiovascular exercise such as walking, jogging, or running. Before making your purchase you’ll need to consider what sort of treadmill with what sort of features you need.

Keep in mind that you do not necessarily have to spend a lot of money to get the machine that works best for you as a basic walking treadmill. Walking on treadmills doesn’t cause the same wear and tear as running or jogging, so you can make do with a much cheaper treadmill. Spending more money on a higher quality treadmill is the best thing to do if you want to use a treadmill for running and jogging.

Treadmills are made up of a number of components that can range from high quality and expensive to inexpensive and inferior in the quality department. The motor is the most essential feature in any treadmill. When you are treadmill shopping, it would be a good idea to buy one with a motor that is both durable and strong since it is the pieace that is employed most. The main reason that a treadmill wears out is because the motor that is on them is often underpowered. Getting the highest quality treadmill that you can afford is a smart choice. The motors in treadmills are rated by two measurements: continuous duty horsepower and peak horsepower. Whereas most treadmills’ peak horsepower ratings are quoted to give them great looking specs on paper in treadmill reviews, it is the continuous duty horsepower rating that should be noted. The continuous horsepower is more important because you will most likely be using the machine for a long period of time and not for a time of 1 to 5 minutes.

The belt is also an essential feature to inspect. You will need to be certain that this piece, which is made of rubber, is of very good quality. Some poor quality treadmills look great, but do not have a sufficient belt and often have a thin belt. A 2- ply belt at least should be purchased to make sure that the belt lasts as long as it possibly can. Since the belts are expensive to replace, you should get one that is of the highest quality.

Spending a little bit more than expected isn’t a bad thing, but don’t put your whole life savings into the treadmill. Always have your budget set before you go, although it’s important to know that if you have a low budget, you might end up with a poor quality machine that will wear out quickly.
